In the ever-evolving tapestry of language, there's a trend that's been troubling me: the tendency to dismiss and replace cherished vocabulary with newer, trendier words. We've all encountered the advice: "Don't say this, instead say this." But what if, instead of discarding the old, we celebrated the new while honoring the tried-and-true?

Why Not Say: 'You can always say this as well'?

Language is a skill honed over years of practice, dedication, and passion. To suddenly discard words that have served us well, simply because a fresh alternative has emerged, feels like discarding a part of our linguistic heritage.

A Call to Embrace and Expand:

  1. Inclusivity in Language: Let's include new vocabulary alongside the old, enriching our linguistic repertoire instead of constraining it.
  2. Honoring Effort: Recognize the effort invested in mastering a language. Every word learned is a milestone in our journey.
  3. Celebrating Diversity: Language is about diversity and adaptability. By integrating new words, we create a richer, more versatile means of communication.

Let’s Foster Growth, Not Replacement:

By saying, "You can always say this as well," we acknowledge the dynamic nature of language without undermining the past. Let's champion a culture where linguistic evolution means expansion and enrichment, not criticism and condemnation.

Together, we can create a more inclusive and appreciative approach to language. Let's celebrate every word, old and new, and the journey we've taken to master them.
